I recently read the first alice book. There arent like... ANY drug refeances that I could see.. Anyway, This is Rose Fawx, Paradox, the March Mutt, and along side is Tommy, the high hatter! Duh Dun! Wtf, there are tonnes of references. First off, Alice bums around eating mushrooms to change size throughout her journey. Next, there's the strange fluid that she drinks to fit through the keyhole. The caterpillar is lethargic, and it is suggested he is smoking something other than tobacco in his hookah.

the caterpillar is the only one I'll except, the drink wansnt drugs consumption just DIRECTLY effected your size, maybe a referance to girls with eatig disorders keepeing themselves thin

I rationalize the other mentioned references by saying that the substances either altered Alice's perception of reality or her sense of place in it. In layman's terms, a mind altering substance = drug.
